VA AMBULATORY CARE CLINIC

This was a $86 Million expansion of the Omaha VA medical center. The new ambulatory care clinic is the result of a first-of-its-kind partnership between the US Department of Veterans Affairs and Heritage Services as part of the CHIP IN for Vets Act passed in 2016. The facility’s design promotes patient-centered environments throughout to focus on the relationship between the physical environment and the patient’s overall experience. The three-level structure has a connector link to the existing hospital building and separates public-patient traffic from the required service traffic. It also includes new exam rooms, outpatient-surgery suites and a women’s health clinic, allowing approximately 400 additional outpatients to visit the VA medical center each day.
