Omaha Celebrity Fight Night

Goldenrod Companies was a title sponsor for Terence “Bud” Crawford’s “Omaha Celebrity Fight Night” event on June 28, 2018. The event benefitted Terence Crawford’s charity, B&B Boxing. B&B Boxing is a non-profit that aims to keep inner-city children off the streets by offering a place for children to come and learn the sweet science of boxing.

Along with a donation from Goldenrod Companies, Managing Principal, Zach Wiegert, was one of the celebrity fighters. Zach was matched up with Jamel Williams in the first of 3 celebrity fights. Zach walked away with a unanimous decision victory in a very fun and exciting match-up. Guest judges for these matchups included Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer, Boys & Girls Club president and CEO Ivan Gilreath, and 94.1 FM radio personality Jeff Degan.

Other celebrity matchups included Former Husker and radio host Damon Benning vs. “The Bottom Line” host Mike’l Severe, KMTV meteorologist Ryan McPike vs. Fox 42’s Tom Becka, and the main event of the evening saw Heisman winner Johnny Rogers win a one-sided unanimous decision against former Husker Van Deeb.
